Sample Letters to NJ EISP Volunteers

We have received three samples letters from Verizon Labor Relations (attached) that will be mailed out to our members on Saturday, June 26, 2010.

The first version will be sent to the majority of our surplus members and the majority of those members that were held (over subscribed) under the chart we posted on 6/21/10.

The second version will impact the 45 members that were held (over subscribed).

The third version will be mailed to the non-surplus members. The date for the non-surplus members has yet to be determined.

The chart that we posted on 6/21/2010 as the final numbers are still being adjusted for both IBEW and CWA:

Definitions

Volunteer (first version letter)- members who are surplus and have put in for the EISP and will be leaving on July 3rd.

Held (second version letter)- members who fall in the over subscribed category (i.e., 50 members report to a work location, 5 were declared surplus, 5 additional members applied- the 5 additional applications are considered held (over subscribed). These held members will be leaving on July 3rd and 45 of those held (over subscribed) the off-date has yet to be determined. PLEASE NOTE: Five (5) hours after posting these letters, the company changed the second version letter. The August 15th date is off. The letter will end telling those members, your application will be excepted, but an off-date have yet to be determined. A new second version letter will be posted when we receive it from the company.

Non- surplus (third version letter)- A date has yet to be determined. Non-surplus members were informed their applications were received but a decision regarding their acceptance has not been reached pending discussions between the Company and the Union.
