Avaya Update 5 6 09

IBEW/CWA Joint Bargaining continued today in Washington DC.

Today the company delivered what it characterized as a "comprehensive economic proposal". This package can only be viewed as an attack on Union Members.
* less than 1 percent increase in wages and pensions annually.
* Health Care costing thousands for Members and their families.
* Reduction in Term pay by over 50 percent.

Just as telling by these examples is the fact that not a single improvement was offered.

If Avaya intends on reaching an agreement by 11:59 PM on May 23, 2009, a major shift in every part of its proposal will be necessary.

The Union is currently reviewing data supplied by the company from several information requests.

When more information is available we will pass that on to you.
