Avaya Bargaining Update 5 23 09 11:30PM

 

Avaya Update 16                                                                      May 23, 2009         The IBEW and CWA began joint bargaining with Avaya on May 5, 2009 and over the ensuing 18 days have attempted to reach a fair and just contract. The parties remain far apart and no agreement has been reached. Key issues are active and retiree healthcare, wages and pensions.

After much discussion, the parties have concluded that enough movement has been made to warrant extending negotiations.

The parties have mutually agreed to “stop the clock”. This means the current contract remains in place and everyone is required to report to work as scheduled.

Bargaining will continue Sunday morning at 9am.
